Dr. John Vincent Ryan, 82, of Lombard, IL, formerly Wheaton, IL, passed away on January 20th, 2016 with his family by his side.   He is survived by his 12 children, 16 grandchildren and 1  great-grandchild. He is also survived by his former wife and the mother of his children, Renee Ryan, and his 3 adoring sisters, Martha Maddock, Mary Rowley, and Virginia Meier. He will be buried next to his son Paul Vincent Ryan. He was a respected surgeon among his peers and had a selfless dedication to his patients. Despite his long hours at the hospital he found time to become an accomplished horticulturist and photographer.  His love for gardening has inspired many friends and family throughout the years.

He was a graduate of Fenwick High School (1951), Notre Dame (1955), GO IRISH! and Loyola Stritch School of Medicine (1959). He had a strong love of Classical and Jazz music and did his best to imprint this on his children and all those around him, with varying levels of success…He enjoyed a good story and had tremendous penchant for detail.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 23rd, at 1 pm, at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL. Services will follow immediately at 1:30 pm. Interment All Saints.  He will be dearly missed!
